Enhancements
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
- Added support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP3.
- System Time Validation
- Added system time validation for Pattern Outdate Alert and Scan Restriction. Users are warned when the computer’s system time may be incorrect. The warning is recorded in the scan log for review in ElementOne. (Supported from ElementOne 1.30.0)
Fixed Bugs
- Scan Result Accuracy
- Fixed an issue where scans could fail to start because of missing or corrupted scan components, but were incorrectly reported as successful.
- Network Information Accuracy
- Fixed an issue where network records with the same MAC address could overwrite one another, resulting in incomplete or inconsistent IP address information.
- Linux Scanning Stability
- Fixed an issue where Portable Inspector could stop unexpectedly on Linux when the system locale setting was missing or invalid.
- Asset Application Consistency
- Fixed an issue where asset application information could be duplicated after importing or exporting scan logs.
- Scanning Tool Startup Reliability
- Fixed an issue where Scanning Tool could fail to open when managed by Scanning Tool Agent if the Portable Inspector device was version 1.0.1026 or earlier.
- Secure Storage Password Handling
- Fixed an issue where Secure Storage passwords longer than 16 characters were saved using only the first 16 characters without notifying the user.
- Scan Reliability with Future System Dates
- Fixed an issue where Portable Inspector could fail to scan when the system date was set far in the future, such as beyond the year 2038.
- Scan Log Synchronization
- Fixed an issue where scan log synchronization could fail with an unclear error message when the ElementOne synchronization limit was exceeded.
Recommended Action
Customers running earlier versions are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Portable Inspector 1.0.1108 to benefit from:
- Additional Linux support and system time validation
- Improved scanning reliability and accurate asset information
- Fixes for Secure Storage password handling and log synchronization
Note: Before upgrading, ensure your environment meets compatibility requirements, especially when integrated with Safe Port and ElementOne. System time validation for Pattern Outdate Alert and Scan Restriction is supported from ElementOne 1.30.0.
